While the big changes that will see 2025 live up to its reputation for being a year of change are still several months away, there is still a significant amount of change taking place this month. Also, after 18 months the lunar nodes are shifting and while their focus will always be on a need for balance, this will be shifting to a new agenda. The first shift of the month happens on 3rd January, as Venus leaves a social and serendipitous part of your chart and returns to a nostalgic and reflective part. This will see Venus return to take your heart on a nostalgic trip down memory lane that will end with her return to Aries early next month. With Saturn and Neptune doing the same in just a few months, this is a chance to start preparing for big changes ahead. It is three days later that Mars will retrograde back out of a playful and creative part of your chart on 6th January just as Mercury, held back by a retrograde turn last month is getting ready to leave an adventurous part on 8th January. This will see the year begin with a lot of focus on the playful, creative and adventurous side of life's fence, only to come to a fairly abrupt end. This will see Mars retrograde back into your home and family sector for a do over while Mercury will join the Sun in your career sector. Meanwhile, it is on 12th January that for the first time in 18 months the lunar nodes will shift their focus from policing a balance between your own and your relationship needs to policing how well you know when to keep your work hat on and when to take it off. Where for the last 18 months the eclipses have fallen in Aries and your relationship sector, they will now fall in your work sector and in a nostalgic and reflective but also intuitive and imaginative part of your chart.
